Cannalogix Foundation is proud to bring to its members (new and old) the Prostate Cancer Genetic Kit. The Prostate Cancer Genetic Kit uses DNA to look at several factors to determine a person’s predisposition to Prostate Cancer. We are proud to be a part of this research and will be updating you more as technology advances.

Prostate Cancer is the second most common cancer amongst men in North America and is the second leading cause of cancer associated deaths in men, with around 20.7 deaths per 100,000 men. American Cancer Society estimates almost 190,000 new cases in the US with around 26,000 deaths.

Family history is the most important risk factor for prostate cancer and several heritable genetic changes have been identified that contribute to the risk of prostate cancer development. These genetic mutations have largely been identified in four genes which include RNASEL, BRCA1, BRCA2 and MSMB. Furthermore, a few of these mutations have been associated with development of highly aggressive forms of prostate cancer.

Almost 14% of men are estimated to develop prostate cancer during their lifetime.
