Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Genetic Kit
Cannalogix Foundation is proud to bring to its members (new and old) the Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Genetic Kit. The Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Genetic Kit uses DNA to look at several factors to determine a person’s predisposition to Colorectal Cancer (CRC). We are proud to be a part of this research and will be updating you more as technology advances.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in both men and women.
An estimate from the American Cancer Society, pegs the number of new cases in the US at 134,490 with approximately 49,190 deaths in a year.
Colorectal cancer refers to a group of cancers which include Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), Attenuated Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (AFAP), MYH-Associated Polyposis (MAP) and Lynch Syndrome.
Approximately 25% of patients have a hereditary component, with 20-25% of those attributed to genetic mutations. These mutations have been identified in several genes including MSH2, MSH6, MLH1, PMS2, PMS1, TGFBR2, APC, CTNNB1 and MUTYH.
‘s kit has been devised to assess your DNA using 9 gene set to assess your genetic risk for developing colorectal cancer.
